Indie Tuesday, Nailnation 3000 Enchanted Forest #13 & BusyGirlNails Nailart Challenge

Welcome to Indie Tuesday everyone!  For the first time, I've decided to participate in a nail art challenge called Busy Girl Nails.  I must warn you, my nail art skills are subpar to say the least but I wanted to give it a go because it's not overwhelming & fits in perfectly with my schedule.  Day 1 is Antique Gold.   I decided to use Enchanted Forest from one of my favorite Indie brands Nailnation 3000 .  My Indie rack is filled with her polishes because she just "gets it right".  There are a lot of indie polish makers out there but there are only a few who make QUALITY products with phenomenal customer service.

Enchanted Forest #13 is a deep green chrome with hints of gold, holo & flecks of pink & cooper micro glitters.  It is FALL in a bottle.  It reminds me of crunched leaves that have fallen to the ground in the fall.  It is so unique & stunning.  I don't have anything like it in my collection.  Application was a breeze & it dried smooth to the touch.  My accent finger is Kiko duo chrome 395 that shifts from gold to green & I did a saran wrap marble to finish it off.
All in all, I love this look!  Please be sure to check Maria from Nailnation 3000 out.  Her polishes are amazing!

Indie Tuesday - I Love Nail Polish "Mutagen"

Anyone who knows me, knows that my absolute favorite type of nail polishes are Multi-Chromes!  A few weeks back I pre-ordered the I Love Nail Polish Ultra Chrome Set!  I completely fell in love with the swatches I saw online & when they arrived, I was not disappointed.  The presentation alone made me giddy!  They came in the cutest boxes with matching tissue paper!  It was hands down the best Indie Polish presentation I've ever seen!  I won't be showing you the entire collection today because these babies are so gorgeous that they deserve their very own posts!  Today I'm showing you Mutagen.

Mutagen is described as a wonderful mirror-like chrome nail polish that seamlessly cascades through green, blue, red and orange; all depending on the angle of your fingertips.  It is part of the ILNP's "Ultra Chrome" class of chromatic nail polishes; formulated to apply directly to the nail without the need for a base color.  It is said to be fully opaque in 2 coats.
Above Photo is the press sample photo taken directly from ILNP Website.
I do not claim to own any copyright to these photos.  All credit goes to the original owner.

Although Mutagen is described to shift from green, blue, red & orange, I wasn't able to get all of those colors.  The color shift that I saw on my nails ranged from bright green, olive green, bronze, yellow, blue & purple.  Its definitely a show stopper.  I've actually seen underwater swatches where the reds & oranges were captured but unfortunately I was not able to see that translate naturally on my nails.  With that being said, Mutagen did not disappoint!  It's gorgeous!

Above photo direct sunlight (Yellow, Green, Blue & Purple Colorshift)
Indirect Sunlight (Green, Bronze, Yellow & Blue)

Application was a breeze.  I applied 3 coats of Mutagen with no undies to get full opacity.  I probably could have gotten away with 2 but I don't like visible nail lines.  Mutagen costs $12.50 & can be purchased here

Smitten with Smitten Polish Siren's Song

Hello everyone.  On the nails today is Siren's Song from indie polish maker Smitten Polish.  It is from the Shipwrecked Collection & is described as "a glass fleck with blue & dark pink tones, plus a subtle to red duo chrome shift".  It's stunning in the bottle & stunning on the nail!  Although the polish says "subtle" color shift, there was a strong color shift of dark pink to blurple on my nails.

I had no problems with the formula; however, it is a tad thick which I don't mind.  Pictured below is 2 coats with 1 coat of Seche Vite.  I purchased Siren's Song from Llarowe for 3 bucks when she was having flash sales a while back!  This has quickly moved to one of my favorite polishes!

NOTD Different Dimension & Dior

Happy Tuesday everyone.  I received some EPIC nail mail from my sweetheart yesterday & decide wanted to wear ALL of them right away.  But unfortunately, I didn't have enough fingers.  Today I have for you an indie polish by Different Dimensions called Today Was a Fairytale & Dior Purple Mix.

Today Was A Fairytale is a gorgeous white jelly polish mixed with large pink & holographic circle glitters, multiple sized holographic glitters with the most beautiful pink/purple/holographic shimmer.  My iPhone could not do this polish justice.  I layered 2 coats over a basic white although it could very easily be worn on its own.  The formula was very good & the glitters did not have to be fished.

I also did a gradient using Dior's Purple Mix.  This was my very 1st Dior polish & let me tell you this sucka is SUPER pigmented!  The color actually dried much darker on the nail than in the bottle but I still thinks its very beautiful.  The formula was flawless!  I loved this mani!

NOTD - Love Stinks & Winter Hyacinth

Happy Sunday everyone!  I wanted to share the nails that I rocked this weekend.  I pulled out some of my "untried" polishes & decided they needed some love.  The polishes I decided on were CrowsToes Love Stinks & Femme Fatale Cosmetics Hyacinth.
Love Stinks:
Love Stinks is from CrowsToes ValenCrows Collection that was released back in February.  It is described as a strong woman's pink that shifts from blue to a red based pink.  When I first saw the swatches of this polish I knew I had to have it.  It had all the things I loved in a polish all rolled up in one.  When I placed it on my nails I literally gasped at it's awesomeness.  The blue glass flecks shift into the pink which makes it look purple as well!! How cool is that?  This polish is luminous & shimmery to the 100th power & i'm totally in love!  Love Stinks can be worn on its own but I chose to layer 2 coats over 1 coat of Sally Hansen's Magenta Moves.  Application was an absolute breeze!
Winter Hyacinth:
Winter Hyacinth is from the Australian indie brand Femme Fatale Cosmetics.  It is described as a soft teal cruelly with large white hexes & white matte diamonds.  It also has fuchsia hex & round metallic glitters & it is a stunner baby!  I love the squishy feel of cruelly polishes so I chose to use 3 coats on it's own.  I received so many compliments on my mani this weekend.  I was loud & bright & loved every minute of it!  I had no application issues.
I purchased both Love Stinks & Winter Hyacinth from Llarowe. Isn't it gorge??  Let me know what you think guys!

Colors by Llarowe - Zipper

Happy Monday everyone! Today I present to you another Colors by Llarowe polish.
Zipper:
Zipper is described on Llarowe's site as a dusty light blue soft holo polish.  It originally started out as a limited edition but has since been moved to CBL's core line & I couldn't be happier!  When I originally saw Zipper on Llarowe's site, it reminded me of what I perceived Ballerina Sprinkles by Enchanted Polish would look like.  I have not been able to obtain that polish & it's been on my want list forever but Zipper has cured my lemming!  I'm not sure if they're dupes or not but I've longed for a light blue holo forever!!
***All Photos were taken in direct sunlight with my iPhone***
Zipper is BEAUTIFUL!!  Although it is described as a dusty blue, in the sunlight, this polish beams & glows with almost a golden shimmer topped with a stunning soft holo.
Application:
Zipper is sheer but built up nicely.  It took  3 coats to get to full opacity & I topped it off with a coat of NYC In a Minute top coat.
Below I attempted to freehand a plaid pattern on my accent nail using Loreal's Jelly Polishes.  It's not perfect & I need plenty of practice but I still like it how it turned out.
Zipper has sky rocketed to one of my favorite polishes of the year & i'm so glad I was able to snag it. You can purchase Zipper from Llarowe for $12 USD.

Dreamcatcher Nails

Happy Friday everyone.  A few days ago I stumbled across some dreamcatcher nails on IG from @memyselfandmynails & fell in love!!  I'm trying my best to get better at nail art so I decided to take a stab at them.

I used Wet n Wild white for my base & did a sponge gradient using China Glaze Peachy Keen & Wet n Wild n Wild Teal Crazy.  Next I had drew the dream catcher & feather using Sinful Colors basic black & a small dotting tool for the dots.  I finished it off by using China Glaze Fairy Dust & Hare Polish Electric Flame then I applied some teal rhinestones.  Although they didn't turn out quite as nice as hers did, I still loved them.  I wore them for 3 whole days (which is a stretch for me considering I change my polish almost every day)!!!!  Let me know what you think...

Emily De Molly - Dark Forces

Happy Saturday everyone!  Today I have for you another beauty by the Australian indie brand Emily De Molly.  Can't you tell she's one of my favorite indie makers?  Before I start, I want to reiterate that i'm not a professional blogger.  I blog for FUN because I love nail polish.  Nothing less, nothing more.
Dark Forces
I have had my eye on this stunner since the day Hayley put it in her Etsy shop!  I waited patiently for someone who ships internationally to sell it!  Finally, last week, Llarowe had it for sale & I managed to grab 2 of these gorgeous suckers!  It was so beautiful that I had to purchase a backup!  I also purchased a backup of Oceanic Forces & Cosmic Forces!

Dark Forces is a black jelly polish packed with various holographic glitters.  It has large circle glitters with smaller hexagonal glitters.  It is absolutely TO DIE FOR!  Enough of my blabbing & on to the pictures.  Note:  All pictures were taken outside with my iPhone.
Dark Forces applied beautifully.  Pictured above is 3 coats on its own topped with 2 coats of NYC in a minute top coat.  Unlike Cosmic Forces, I did not have to fish for the bigger circle glitters.  In fact, too many were getting on the brush & I had to put them back in the bottle!  I was extremely happy about this!  Emily De Molly's "Forces" collection is a must have for anyone who loves glitter!  Until next time...

Colors by Llarowe True Colors

Happy Monday everyone!  When Llarowe had a a pre-sale on her polishes a few weeks back, I knew there were 2 polishes that I just HAD to have if it KILLED me.  They were True Colors & Zipper (which I'll be posting at a later date).  Well, they arrived today!  I can't tell you my excitement!  I ran to the mailbox & almost knocked the mailman over.  I snatched my package out of his hands & ran to the house to open it! My hair was a mess, I was barefoot & bra-less!  Needless to say I looked like a complete maniac & lunatic but I didn't care!  My pretties were FINALLY here!
"True Colors"
is the most gorgeous deep "plum-ple" color holographic polish that I've ever laid my eyes on.  It "almost" appears to color shift depending on the angle I was looking at.  Yes, I know I'm making up words that don't exist but there are no words to describe this beauty! Because my vocabulary isn't vast enough to describe True Colors, I will leave my pictures to do the talking.  Please note:  There was absolutely NO sun today & the photos were taken with my iPhone!  YES!  My iPhone took these pictures!

This is 3 layers of True Colors with no topcoat under regular indoor lighting!  It's been thunder storming all day & I didn't have the patience to wait until there was sum but it was still gorgeous under regular lighting.  There was no light box, no fancy lights, no fancy camera or fancy editing.  Just point & shoot!
Application:  I've found that not all Indie Brand polishes are made equal.  I've been disappointed by many because they have been thick & goopy & not mixed properly.  But i'm ecstatic to say that True Blood applies like butter & is completely opaque in 3 thin coats!  The holo shines bright in low light as well.  I can't wait to see this baby in the sun.  I'll update pictures when I can.  I'm so thrilled that I bought this polish!

Emily De Molly Cosmic Forces

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Today I present to you another beauty from Emily De Molly.  This polish is one of the most beautiful polishes I have ever seen!  The beautiful....

Cosmic Forces!!!
Cosmic Forces is a black/plum based jelly saturated with Fuchsia holographic Circle glitters & smaller hexagonal glitters.  It's so complex that I can't even begin to describe it.  It has AMAZING depth!  And pictures DO NOT do this polish justice!  I will stop yapping & let the pictures speak for themselves.  Unfortunately I'm using my iPhone because my phone is still broken but I think you will get the picture.

Isn't she lovely?  Isn't she beautiful???? I'm so in love!  Emily de Molly can be purchased from Llarowe if you don't live in Australia or from Emily de Molly's easy or Website if you're within Australia.

Emily De Molly & Smitten Polish

Hi everyone.  Today I would like to show you one of my FAVORITE indie polish makers Emily De Molly!  Emily De Molly is an Aussie Indie maker.  I can't believe how she's blown up within the last year but boy am I so very proud of her!  I own 23 of her polishes but it's my ultimate goal to own every single one of her polishes!  Yes, I love them THAT MUCH!

Up first:  Simplicity

Simplicity is a lavender crelly polish with white matte glitters of different sizes.  This polish is so simple, yet sophisticated all at the same time.  My iPhone could not do it justice.  I love ALL shades of purple so this is skyrocketed into my top 10 favorite polishes!!

Application was a breeze.  Pictured below is 2 coats topped with 1 coat of Seche Vite top coat.
Up Next:  Accent Finger Oceanic Forces & Smitten Polish Naiad

Oceanic Forces is a dark blue Jelly polish with large circle & small holographic glitters.  This has to be in my top 5 favorite polishes of 2013.  It's gorgeous & my pictures do not do it justice.

Smitten Polish Naiad is a blue/green polish loaded with purple flecks.  It's very similar to Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily but not an exact dupe.  If you couldn't get hour hands on Aqua Lily, this should definitely satisfy your lemming.  This polish is so beautiful!   I had no problems with application.
You can purchase her polishes from directly from her Etsy shop or her website if you reside in Australia.  If you reside elsewhere, you can purchase them from Llarowe;  but be warned, her polishes sell out in MINUTES of launching!  But if you have the patience, it's worth it!

Smitten Polish can be purchased Here.  Her polishes are easier to obtain and are gorgeous as well.

Different Dimensions Orion Nebula

Happy Sunday guys!  Today I have for you a beautiful polish Indie polish by Different Dimension called Orion Nebula.  It's a a black jelly polish packed with large & medium sized fuchsia circle glitters.  Its absolutely gorgeous.  I've only recently starting getting into Indie Polishes & boy have I become obsessed with them!

Application was a breeze!  The great thing about this polish is that you don't have to fish for the large glitters!  Each time I dipped my brush into the polish, it was jam packed full.  Below you will find 3 coats topped with 1 coat of Seche Vite top coat.  It's definitely a stunner.

You can purchase this polish at Llarowe.  She also has an Etsy Shop so you can buy directly from her as well!

Inspired by decorative tape

Happy Saturday everyone!  I hope your weekend has been full of joy.  Although I haven't purchased a new camera yet, I've decided to continue to post pictures of my progress with nail art.  My trustee iPhone will have to suffice until I can afford a new one.

Today's mani was inspired by a roll of tape.  The colors were so beautiful to me so I decided to take a stab at recreating the pattern.  Although I'm not the best nail artist, I enjoy trying.  Once again I want to thank everyone for the well wishes & concern & for welcoming me back.  It means so much to me.

I used Sinful Colors white as the base, China Glaze Blue Year's Eve & Different Dimensions Gnarly for the pattern.  This was so simple to do.  Let me know what you think.

My First Attempt at Cut Out Nails

Hello everyone.  I hope you had a fabulous Independence Day!  I'm an Independence baby & I had a blast on my birthday!  I haven't attempted any nail art in so long! I came across a picture on Instagram from  ChelseaQueen called "cut out nails" aka negative space nails.  Her nails inspired me to want to learn how to do nail art again.  Be warned, mine came out nowhere NEAR as good as Chelsea's did but I am so very proud of them!

The colors I used were Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily, Sinful Colors Black & Zoya Charisma.  I topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite.

I'm so stoked at how these turned out.  I apologize for my iPhone pictures, my daughter broke my good camera & I haven't had the opportunity to purchase another.  If you are interested in knowing how to do these nails please visit Chelsea's Web Page.  Let me know what you guys think!
