High End Sunday/Vintage Monday Combined - Versace Lacquer V02077

Happy Sunday everyone!  Life has been so hectic lately that I haven't been able to really post anything. But after receiving another long time lemming of mine, there was no way that I was NOT going to post this baby.

Versace's Heat Nail Lacquer V2077-W is a multi-chrome polish in a blackened base that shifts from red to green to gold to purple at extreme angles.  This polish is LONG discontinued & I have been scouring the earth for it for YEARS! I've searched eBay, foreign auctions, blog sales, yard sales, Craig's List, Flea Markets, Estate Sales & Salon Sales.  I've even gone on "dusty shopping trips" & asked every single person I know to look out for this elusive polish.   And just when I thought I would never own this beauty & had given up ALL hope,  a very good nail buddy of mine "gifted" this beauty to me without asking for anything in return!  I am so humbled & honored by her generosity & so thankful for such a sweet friend.

Versace V2077-W  is said to be a dupe for Clarins 230 lovingly referred to as "unicorn pee".  It is also long discontinued but is easily obtainable on eBay if you're willing to pay the hefty price tag for it.  I happen to own this one as well & although they both have the same shifting qualities, they are not dupes.  Clarins 230 has a Purple/Maroon base & Versace v2077 has a rich blackened base.  I must admit, I prefer Versace.  It applied like butter, looked better with my skin tone, dried super glossy & doesn't have the horrible smell that Clarins 230 has.  (I will be doing comparisons of all my Clarins 230 dupes at a later date).

Taking photos of Versace on it's on was so frustrating!  The shimmer would not translate in the photos! UGHHHHH!!  Because I wasn't able to properly capture the shifting qualities of Versace V2077 on its own,  I decided to layer it over one of my own frankens called "Lucky Charms".  Lucky Charms is an extremely saturated multi-chrome polish that has the same shifting qualities as "Unicorn Pee".  It shifts from red to green to gold & can be worn on its own.  My accent finger shows Lucky Charms on its own on half the nail.  The other half is one layer of Versace V2077 painted over it.  The color shift picked up on camera MUCH better this way.    I'm totally in love with this polish!  Words can't even describe but hopefully my pictures will.

My Shifting Franken (Red to Green)

I purchased some color morphing pigment a while ago from More Nail Polish a few months back & never  took it out of the package.  This is the same place I purchased my Spectraflair.  Well today, I decided to break that bad boy out.  This is the Red to Green pigment which is said to be the same pigment used in Clarins 230, Urban Decay Toxic & Max Factor Fantasy Fire.  I am lucky enough to have all three & I will be doing some comparisons in the near future.

But in the meantime, I am so happy with how this franken turned out.  I used a clear polish,  purple-ly base and one small scoop of my powder & shook shook shook!!  I tried it over a black base & it turned out terrific.  This bad boy shifts from red to green to yellow to orange & shimmers galore while doing so!!   I also tried it on my nail wheel over a royal blue base & the shifting colors looked much different but still gorgeous. I have so many ideas for this pigment & I'm so happy I purchased it.   Let me know what you think...

Ozotic 505...My New Love (Pic Heavy)

I have always wanted to own Ozotic polishes but was never unable to find them in the United States.  Well, my instagram buddies told me about Llarowe which sells them & I was so excited.  I finally own my very 1st but definitely not last Ozotic nail polish!!!!  And let me tell you, it's a beauty.  Now i'm sure all of you have seen a gazillion swatches on this baby but I don't care.  I'm in love & now it's my turn!!!

Ozotic 505 is described as a Multi-Chrome polish which shifts from dark green to dark purple to blue & even magenta!  It's GORGEOUS!  This baby is officially my absolute favorite polish.  Yep thats right, better than my Max Factor Fantasy Fire, my Clarins 230 & even my Purple Skittles Franken!  This puppy has stolen the top spot and i'm beyond giddy!

I purchased 2 of these bad boys.  1 for me & 1 for a future giveaway!  Enough of me rambling.  Let's get to the pictures.

 

 

 

Max Factor Fantasy Fire-Love at First Sight.....

I have been desperate to try Max Factor Fantasy Fire since the very first day I heard about it but there was one HUGE problem.... It's only sold in the UK!! Ughhhhhh, how could something so beautiful not be sold in the states?!!!

Sending a special shoutout to my brother Brandon whose a photographer who came over this weekend & shot this beauty for FREE for his big sis.  I love u...

Well, thanks to 2 wonderful women Fay from Truly Polished & Cassie aka Cassgooner from Instagram, I managed to get my hands on several bottles!  I am so thankful to these ladies!!  Because of you, I can now use as much as I want.  I am overjoyed!!!!!

Fantasy Fire is a beautiful purplish, bluish, goldish, reddish Holo polish, depending on the angle & if you are using it on it's own or layering it over another polish.   It is said to be a close dupe of the long sold out Clarins 230 aka Unicorn Pee.  I will be doing a comparison of the two soon...  There are no words to describe this gorgeous polish so I leave you with the pictures instead.  The pictures show 3 coats of Fantasy Fire on it's own.  I will swatch it layered over other polishes at a later date as well but until then, enjoy this beauty alone in all it's glory.   Let me know what you think.

Clarins 230 "CRUSHED"

I've been lusting over the infamous Clarins 230 for months. I scanned eBay & saw it selling for $60 plus for 1 bottle of polish. I could never justify to myself to spend that much on 1 bottle. But last week I convinced myself. I said to myself "SELF, you work everyday. Your bills are paid, you are not going into debt & you can afford it. There is nothing wrong with splurging on yourself". So I did it!!

I went to eBay, I held my breath & I purchased my Unicorn Pee for over $60!!! And I anxiously waited for my package to arrive.

It took 4 entire days to get here. I ripped the package open only to find that my bottle was CRUSHED & so was I....

NO!!!! How could this be?? How could my bottle have been crushed during shipment? I'm devastated! I'm hoping the Seller does right by me but until then, I'm heartbroken...

UPDATE:

I heard from the Seller couturebellasera on eBay & I have to admit they were not only VERY friendly but super helpful. They communicated with me almost immediately. They calmed me down from my panick (which is not easily done when I'm in my ways) lol & they provided EXCELLENT customer service. They have agreed to ship me another bottle of polish & I'm definitely a happy camper & would definitely purchase from them again. WHEW! What a day... Thanks for reading...
