Emily De Molly - Dark Forces

Happy Saturday everyone!  Today I have for you another beauty by the Australian indie brand Emily De Molly.  Can't you tell she's one of my favorite indie makers?  Before I start, I want to reiterate that i'm not a professional blogger.  I blog for FUN because I love nail polish.  Nothing less, nothing more.
Dark Forces
I have had my eye on this stunner since the day Hayley put it in her Etsy shop!  I waited patiently for someone who ships internationally to sell it!  Finally, last week, Llarowe had it for sale & I managed to grab 2 of these gorgeous suckers!  It was so beautiful that I had to purchase a backup!  I also purchased a backup of Oceanic Forces & Cosmic Forces!

Dark Forces is a black jelly polish packed with various holographic glitters.  It has large circle glitters with smaller hexagonal glitters.  It is absolutely TO DIE FOR!  Enough of my blabbing & on to the pictures.  Note:  All pictures were taken outside with my iPhone.
Dark Forces applied beautifully.  Pictured above is 3 coats on its own topped with 2 coats of NYC in a minute top coat.  Unlike Cosmic Forces, I did not have to fish for the bigger circle glitters.  In fact, too many were getting on the brush & I had to put them back in the bottle!  I was extremely happy about this!  Emily De Molly's "Forces" collection is a must have for anyone who loves glitter!  Until next time...

Colors by Llarowe True Colors

Happy Monday everyone!  When Llarowe had a a pre-sale on her polishes a few weeks back, I knew there were 2 polishes that I just HAD to have if it KILLED me.  They were True Colors & Zipper (which I'll be posting at a later date).  Well, they arrived today!  I can't tell you my excitement!  I ran to the mailbox & almost knocked the mailman over.  I snatched my package out of his hands & ran to the house to open it! My hair was a mess, I was barefoot & bra-less!  Needless to say I looked like a complete maniac & lunatic but I didn't care!  My pretties were FINALLY here!
"True Colors"
is the most gorgeous deep "plum-ple" color holographic polish that I've ever laid my eyes on.  It "almost" appears to color shift depending on the angle I was looking at.  Yes, I know I'm making up words that don't exist but there are no words to describe this beauty! Because my vocabulary isn't vast enough to describe True Colors, I will leave my pictures to do the talking.  Please note:  There was absolutely NO sun today & the photos were taken with my iPhone!  YES!  My iPhone took these pictures!

This is 3 layers of True Colors with no topcoat under regular indoor lighting!  It's been thunder storming all day & I didn't have the patience to wait until there was sum but it was still gorgeous under regular lighting.  There was no light box, no fancy lights, no fancy camera or fancy editing.  Just point & shoot!
Application:  I've found that not all Indie Brand polishes are made equal.  I've been disappointed by many because they have been thick & goopy & not mixed properly.  But i'm ecstatic to say that True Blood applies like butter & is completely opaque in 3 thin coats!  The holo shines bright in low light as well.  I can't wait to see this baby in the sun.  I'll update pictures when I can.  I'm so thrilled that I bought this polish!

Emily De Molly Cosmic Forces

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Today I present to you another beauty from Emily De Molly.  This polish is one of the most beautiful polishes I have ever seen!  The beautiful....

Cosmic Forces!!!
Cosmic Forces is a black/plum based jelly saturated with Fuchsia holographic Circle glitters & smaller hexagonal glitters.  It's so complex that I can't even begin to describe it.  It has AMAZING depth!  And pictures DO NOT do this polish justice!  I will stop yapping & let the pictures speak for themselves.  Unfortunately I'm using my iPhone because my phone is still broken but I think you will get the picture.

Isn't she lovely?  Isn't she beautiful???? I'm so in love!  Emily de Molly can be purchased from Llarowe if you don't live in Australia or from Emily de Molly's easy or Website if you're within Australia.

Emily De Molly & Smitten Polish

Hi everyone.  Today I would like to show you one of my FAVORITE indie polish makers Emily De Molly!  Emily De Molly is an Aussie Indie maker.  I can't believe how she's blown up within the last year but boy am I so very proud of her!  I own 23 of her polishes but it's my ultimate goal to own every single one of her polishes!  Yes, I love them THAT MUCH!

Up first:  Simplicity

Simplicity is a lavender crelly polish with white matte glitters of different sizes.  This polish is so simple, yet sophisticated all at the same time.  My iPhone could not do it justice.  I love ALL shades of purple so this is skyrocketed into my top 10 favorite polishes!!

Application was a breeze.  Pictured below is 2 coats topped with 1 coat of Seche Vite top coat.
Up Next:  Accent Finger Oceanic Forces & Smitten Polish Naiad

Oceanic Forces is a dark blue Jelly polish with large circle & small holographic glitters.  This has to be in my top 5 favorite polishes of 2013.  It's gorgeous & my pictures do not do it justice.

Smitten Polish Naiad is a blue/green polish loaded with purple flecks.  It's very similar to Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily but not an exact dupe.  If you couldn't get hour hands on Aqua Lily, this should definitely satisfy your lemming.  This polish is so beautiful!   I had no problems with application.
You can purchase her polishes from directly from her Etsy shop or her website if you reside in Australia.  If you reside elsewhere, you can purchase them from Llarowe;  but be warned, her polishes sell out in MINUTES of launching!  But if you have the patience, it's worth it!

Smitten Polish can be purchased Here.  Her polishes are easier to obtain and are gorgeous as well.

Application was a breeze!  The great thing about this polish is that you don't have to fish for the large glitters!  Each time I dipped my brush into the polish, it was jam packed full.  Below you will find 3 coats topped with 1 coat of Seche Vite top coat.  It's definitely a stunner.

You can purchase this polish at Llarowe.  She also has an Etsy Shop so you can buy directly from her as well!

Inspired by decorative tape

Happy Saturday everyone!  I hope your weekend has been full of joy.  Although I haven't purchased a new camera yet, I've decided to continue to post pictures of my progress with nail art.  My trustee iPhone will have to suffice until I can afford a new one.

Today's mani was inspired by a roll of tape.  The colors were so beautiful to me so I decided to take a stab at recreating the pattern.  Although I'm not the best nail artist, I enjoy trying.  Once again I want to thank everyone for the well wishes & concern & for welcoming me back.  It means so much to me.

I used Sinful Colors white as the base, China Glaze Blue Year's Eve & Different Dimensions Gnarly for the pattern.  This was so simple to do.  Let me know what you think.

My First Attempt at Cut Out Nails

Hello everyone.  I hope you had a fabulous Independence Day!  I'm an Independence baby & I had a blast on my birthday!  I haven't attempted any nail art in so long! I came across a picture on Instagram from  ChelseaQueen called "cut out nails" aka negative space nails.  Her nails inspired me to want to learn how to do nail art again.  Be warned, mine came out nowhere NEAR as good as Chelsea's did but I am so very proud of them!

The colors I used were Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily, Sinful Colors Black & Zoya Charisma.  I topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite.

I'm so stoked at how these turned out.  I apologize for my iPhone pictures, my daughter broke my good camera & I haven't had the opportunity to purchase another.  If you are interested in knowing how to do these nails please visit Chelsea's Web Page.  Let me know what you guys think!
