Last Day for EPIC Giveaway!!!!!! CLOSED

Happy Thursday ladies!!

I just wanted to give one last reminder regarding my giveaway! Entries will not be accepted after 12:00 am tomorrow.  For details regarding the giveway please Click Here!!  I will be announcing the winner on June 6 at noon.  The reason for the delay is because I have to manually enter entries as the Rafflecopter wouldn't accept the Indie Polish answers.  Also, if you have entered Anonymously, unfortunately I will have to disqualify you  as I will have no way of knowing who you are.

Thank you guys so much for entering & supporting my blog.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at cryslovespolish@gmail.com

Red & Black Paint Drips

Happy Wednesday everyone!!

Once again i'm attempting nail art inspired by someone else.  So many people have done this mani that it wouldn't be fair for me to to single out 1 person.  I was inspired by everyone who had done this paint drip mani.  I'm not a red fan, but I received so many compliments on this mani yesterday. It was great fun attempting to recreate this awesome look.

So how did I do?  I'm so happy my nail art skills are getting better by the day!!  Practice, Practice, Practice!!

Brain Cancer Awareness Take 2

This is take 2 on "Go Gray for Brain Cancer" Awareness.  This was started by Marijo Nail's.  Please head over & check out her blog, she's AMAZING!!

My 1st look was inspired by Penelope Luz.  She's an amazing nail blogger & I fell absolutely in love with  this look.  Of course, mine doesn't even compare to her's but I still like how it turned out.

I had so much fun creating this look.  Have a great evening guys!!

Brain Cancer Awareness ~ Dry Marble

Hi ladies,

One of my lovely instagram buddies MariJo is holding a nail art contest to bring awareness to brain cancer.  This was an excellent way for me to practice some nail art as well as help bring awareness to this awful disease.  The only rules were you had to follow her on instagram & the nail art had to be in gray.  So I decided to try dry marbling.  Let me tell you this did not come out great but I still liked it.  Hopefully my next try will be better.

Tigers!!!!! Stamping Sunday...and my new Magnetic Franken

Happy Sunday everyone!!

I admit that i'm HORRIBLE with nail art & i'm not very creative when it comes to ideas.  Instead, I rely on your beautiful nail art designs & I attempt to copy them.  Most the time I'm not successful but I love trying.  And I must admit i'm getting so much better.  I still have a long way to go but at least i'm trying.

Today, I present to you TIGER nails!!  I saw this post on the AMAZING Esmaltes Da Kelly's Website and I fell in love.  This woman has the most amazing nails I've ever seen!!  Although mine didn't turn out anywhere NEAR as awesome as hers, I'm still proud of it.

First, I had to make my own magnetic nail polish.  I ordered my pigments from Anna's Art Asylum on eBay.  Anna has awesome customer services & ships super fast!!

I frankened up my polish by using a mini bottle from TKB Trading.  I filled the bottle 3/4's of the way with at the Luster suspender base from TKB Trading & the rest I used a clear base.  Next, I added 4 scoops of pigment & shook like crazy...and Viola!!!!  "Cleopatra" was born!   This baby is a one coater but I used 2 because I had to use the magnet.  And let me tell you it applies like butter!!!  Next, I stamped over the polish using my Konad plate & then  I topped it with 1 layer of my fav top coat.

Ok, enough talking & on with the pictures!! I forgot to take pics of Cleopatra alone, but I promise you that I will do that at a later date.

So how did I do?  Do you love it as much as I do?  For all the newbies out there like me, NEVER be afraid to try nail art.  The worst thing that can happen is you mess up.  But I promise that you will get better.  I'm an example of that.  I may not be perfect yet but i'm so very proud of myself.

Stamping Sunday's & Another Color Morphing Top Coat

Welcome to Stamping Sundays everyone!

I'm trying out another duo chrome pigment from Anna's Art Asylum #35202.  This particular one shifts from Blue to Purple .  The hues of blues & purples shift from a dark blue to an almost turquoise blue to a dark purple to a pinkish-purple.  It's really beautiful.  I took a ton of pictures & could not come up with photos that show how beautiful this one is.
Formula:
I filled the mini bottle a 3rd of the way with TKB's Luster base.  I then added 3 heaping straw tip scoops of the color morphing pigment.  Next I added the smallest bit of the purple pigment I purchased from TKB Trading.  I filled the rest of the bottle with clear polish.

The pictures are of the top coat layered over black & then stamped with BM plate 211.  I saw a picture of this particular design on NailXchange's blog & fell completely in love with it.  I didn't have the polish she used but this top coat reminded me of her polish so I decided to go for it.  Of course mine didn't turn our nearly as gorgeous as her's but i'm still super happy with the results.  I'm becoming quite savvy with the nail stamping (pats self on back) lol.  By the way, I forgot to take pics of the polish before I stamped it.  I'm such a goof.  But I think you get the picture.

The pictures were taken with my iPhone because I could not get my real camera to cooperate.  I did edit the photos with the "auto enhance" & blur feature which actually showed the color better than the original photo.  I'm not photographer & maybe one day I can invest in a light box so that my pictures look more professional but until then, this is the best I could do.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Franken Friday ~ Dragon Scales

Happy Friday Everyone!!
Today is Franken Friday!  I know most of my post have been about my frankens lately but i'm enjoying it so much that I can't wait to share them with you.  Today I introduce you to Dragon Scales!!
Dragon Scales:
A multi-chrome topcoat which morphs between purple, to green & to blue.  It was made from color shifting pigments purchased from eBay.  I used pigment #821502.  Dragon Scales is pictured below with black as a base.  It is meant to be layered but I think it's gorgeous!

I purchased this wonderful color morphing pigment from Anna's Art Asylum on eBay.  She is AWESOME!  She ships quickly & has awesome customer service.  I have ordered from her several times & I've never been disappointed.  The pigments are gorgeous!  Try them ALL!  They are priced very reasonably so theres no reason NOT to get them all.  Have fun frankening guys!!  Good Luck!

Another Franken - Green Lantern

Happy Monday everyone!!

Today I'm bringing to you another custom polish.  I made this polish specifically for my oldest daughter Charisma because she loves the color green.  It is by far her favorite color.  I'm not a fan of deep green nail polishes but this one was for her so she had full range of what color green she wanted.  She stated she wanted a bright Grass Green with green & silver glitters but not over the top glitter.  I did my best to please her & although I'm happy with how it turned out, I know I would NEVER wear this unless it's Saint Patrick's day or something! lol.

She named this polish Green Lantern after the Super Hero Character.  I only have 1 picture to share today as I had so much going on this weekend from it being Mother's Day.  Here goes...

Happy Mother's Day & Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily

Happy Sunday everyone & a HUGE Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!  Today I present to you Aqua Lily from Rescue Beauty Lounge.  Don't worry ladies, this is not the one i'm giving away.  I managed to swipe 2 of these bad boys during the re-stock at RBL.

This is one of the most beautiful polishes I have ever seen.  When I first saw this on the site, I couldn't wait to purchase it but I missed the pre-sale & the day that it went on sale it was sold out before I could get to the site.  Talk about HEARTBROKEN!!  Then, a miracle happened!  Ji from RBL said she found some extras in stock!!  I stalked that site for HOURS!  Constantly refreshing the button so that I could finally grab me my Aqua Lily.  And let me tell you it was TOTALLY worth it.  It was quite thrilling to be honest lol.

Aqua Lily:

This is the description on the site:  A few years ago, I was lucky enough to visit the Kuda Huraa Island of the Maidives.  The turquoise water is a crystal-clear sea green and what really had me spellbound was that it reflected a shimmery-pink hue from the shedding scales of the colorful, vivid, and exotic tropical fish.  This color is Kay-Di Kat's homage to her beloved mom, Lily, who swims like an enchanting mermaid.  I imagine Lily swimming in this paradise with its mesmerizing water in the Island of the Maidives.

Enough of the babbling.  On to the pictures

The pinkish/purple shimmer is FANTASTIC!  My camera can't pick up how amazing this polish is!!

Indie Polish :::Georgia Peach Fuzz:::

Happy Saturday everyone!  Today I would like to introduce you an indie polish that I have been stalking for months now but it was ALWAYS sold out!!  Georgia Peach Fuzz by Whimsical Ideas by Pam!  When I tell you that this woman has some AWESOME polishes, please believe me!!

I originally saw people all over the internet posting Suess & immediately went to her Facebook page HERE & fell head over hills for Peanut Butter & Jelly, Georgia Peach Fuzz & Kizmet Pajamas!  My tongue was literally hanging out!  I'm going to try to eventually get them all but for now, I have my favorite one out the bunch to show you!

Georgia Peach Fuzz
Georgia Peach Fuzz is a Jelly Peach polish with small & larger orange/copper glitters. It is heavenly! It's the best peach colored polish I've ever seen!!! I've been trying to franken a color close to this for the past couple of months & I came close but never this perfect!! I had NO problems with application. Pictured below is 3 coats as this is a jelly & I wanted it to be opaque for the pictures. I didn't use a base or top coat in these pictures because I was super excited & wanted to hurry & take the pictures lol.

I can't wait to purchase the others.  So what are your thoughts?  Will you be purchasing any polishes from  Whimsical Ideas by Pam?  She sells from her Facebook page.  Just shoot her an email & she invoices you not long after.

Franken Friday~~ Starry Nights, MILF, Fuzzy Navel & Peach Snaps

Happy Friday everyone!!  I know my title is not original but i'm just not as creative as some of you ladies lol.   Today I decided to post a few more of my nail polish frankens.  Someone asked me what's the difference between a Franken & a Custom Polish.  To be honest, I have no idea.  I just always assumed that a franken is when you make your own polish.  If anyone has a better answer, please inform me in comments.

I've also been asked if I am going to sell my frankens.  Unfortunately,  the answer has to be no at this time.  The reason being is that I don't feel comfortable selling something that I'm so new at.  I've only started doing this as a hobby & I have so much to learn.  But I appreciate all the encouragement that I've received from you guys.

Ok enough talk, on to the pictures.

Fuzzy Navel
This is an ode to the Peach Milshakes I get from Hardees.  The have big chunks of peaches in them & are so delicious!  I LOVE THEM! lol.  I didn't have an large chunky glitters but I used a gold & silver glitter instead.  I named it Fuzzy Navel after one of my fav alcoholic drinks lol.  I really like this one although it is more subtle than the rest of my creations.  Shown below is 2 coats & no base with a 1 layer of top coat.

M.I.L.F.
M.I.L.F.  is an ode to my children who state I'm too old to wear bright pink colors.  This is a direct statement to them that although i'm old, I'm not dead yet & I can STILL be vibrant & fun.  M.I.L.F is a very bright HOT pink but not neon polish packed full of holographic glitters & shimmer.  I must admit I adore this on my skin tone & will be rocking it on my toes often this summer.  Shown below is 2 layers with no base coat with 1 layer of my fav top coat.

Peach Snaps
This is an ode to another of my favorite alcoholic drinks (are u seeing a pattern here) called Peach Snaps.  It is a bright tangerine-ish Jelly polish packed with gold glitters.  It's really beautiful.  Shown below is 3 coats with no base & 1 layer of my fav top coat.

Starry Nights
This polish is an old to my instagram busy AlwayzKellz.  She ALWAYS rocks the BEST blues & I tend to shy away from them.  Her swatches made me actually try BLUE & I loved it.  This is a true blue packed with all types of glitters & shimmers & has just a tad of spectra flair to give it that UMPH in the sun!  I LOVE THIS ONE!!

Skies The Limit
An ode to Sinful Colors Cinderella.  A pastel blue with a prominent silver shimmer & chunky silver glitters with a smooth even application.

I love the color of Sinful Colors Cinderella but the application is a nightmare!  So I decided to make one similar & i'm in love.  The application is amazing!  I'm so proud of myself.  Enough of me talking, check out the pics below.

Macro Shots
I'm really in love with polish.  Let me know what you think!!

My new Frankens

A few weeks back I received my order of pigments, glitter & franking supplies from TKB Trading.  I've been busy Frankening away!  I'm still new at this but I'm loving my new hobby!!!  Pictured below are 6 new frankens that I made yesterday.  I had a ball doing this!  I'm working on a chart with my recipes so look forward to that in the near future.

Introducing Peach Snaps, Fuzzy Navel, Stardust, M.I.L.F., Skies the Limit & Starry Nights

Showcased today is:

Stardust

Star Dust is a true purple polish packed with multi sized holographic, blue, silver, red & pink glitters.

Below Stardust is pictured in natural lighting with 2 coats of polish & 1 coat of my favorite top coat.

Macro Shot

Application for Stardust was awesome.  It was super opaque in 2 coats.  It was not gritty or bumpy like most glitters & my regular top coat worked just fine.  I'm in love.

What do you think about Stardust?  I would love to hear from you.
